Residential Care Accreditation Standards

In 2011, the Aged Care Accreditation and Standards Agency commenced a review of the Community Care and Residential Care Standards.

A consultation process is currently being conducted with aged care providers nationally.

On Friday, 13 May 2011, 120 industry representatives attended the ACCV Residential Care Accreditation Standards Forum, held at Flemington Racecourse.

A summary of discussions and written material from participants at the Forum has now been compiled.

Voting on the possible grouping of the Expected Performances was also held with attendees at the Forum.

ACCV has also issued this information to the Department of Health and Ageing for consideration in their review of the Draft Standards. The Department’s review of the Standards is expected to be completed in July 2011. ACCV will keep members informed of the progress of this review.

The draft standards are available to view below, as are changes to the Accreditation Grant Principles (please note these are not related to the Accreditation Standards review).
