Workplace Relations

The ACCV Workplace Relations service is divided into two main categories:

1. A basic advisory and workplace relations educational service that offers members:

  • Generic advice on awards, agreements and workplace legislation
  • Human Resource (HR) and workplace relations training programs
  • Policy development in relation to future challenges of HR and workplace relations in aged and community care in order to develop employer of choice strategies and best practices

2. An industrial relations advisory, dispute resolution and advocacy service that provides consultancy advice to individual aged care organisations on issues such as:

  • Case-specific disciplinary procedures
  • Staffing issues regarding restructuring or downsizing and redundancies
  • Negotiation and registration of workplace agreements
  • Representation at the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC)
  • Complex termination of employment cases
  • All other case specific issues

ACCV invokes the services of specialist industrial relations advisors Clare Dewan and Associates to assist in advising Members on these more detailed workplace relations issues.
