What are Supported Residential Services?
More than 6000 residents live in supported residential services (SRS) across Victoria. There are currently 181 SRS registered with the Department of Health.
SRS provide accommodation for people who require care and support in everyday life, for example, people who are frail, aged or who have a disability.
SRS are private businesses and generally do not receive government funding. SRS must be registered with the Department of Health and are monitored to ensure they provide certain standards of care and accommodation.
SRS vary in the services they provide, the people they accommodate and the fees they charge.
