Aged & Community Care Victoria - Partnership in Training with Department of Human Services for Supported Residential Services
ACCV has taken over the role of coordinating the SRS Training Program for proprietors and staff.
More than 6000 residents live in supported residential services (SRS) across Victoria. There are currently 185 SRS registered with the Department of Human Services (as at May 2008).
SRS provide accommodation for people who require care and support in everyday life, for example, people who are frail, aged or who have a disability.
SRS are private businesses and generally do not receive government funding. SRS must be registered with the Department of Human Services and are monitored to ensure they provide certain standards of care and accommodation.
SRS vary in the services they provide, the people they accommodate and the fees they charge.

Care Planning and Key Practice Issues

The workshops comprise six one-day sessions spread out over a six-week period and are free of charge. It is important to note that attendance at all six sessions is essential to gain maximum value from the training.
